In recent years, more and more people suffer from eye surface disorders which are therefore a topic discussed not only in scientific publications and at conferences but also in the offices of eye care specialists. The aim of the study was to assess the eye surface disorders on the basis of the obtained data from the keratograph, to check the usefulness of the OSDI and McMonnies questionnaires as well as the Keratograph 5M topograph in an optometric office for the initial diagnosis of Dry Eye Syndrome. The first part of this work describes the anatomical basis of the tear film, as well as the necessary issues regarding the Dry Eye Syndrome (OCD) - types, symptoms, causes, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of OCD. A literature review was also presented, taking into account the latest research on the correlation between the parameters of the tear film. The research part describes the research methodology, the operation of the Keratograph 5M topograph, the questionnaires used and the measured parameters of the tear film. The last part of the work presents the results of the questionnaires and the analysis showing the correlations between the individual parameters.
