The work describes the construction of an open-field autorefractor. Next there is a description of usage to objectively measure: refraction in pseudophakes, near induced transient myopia (NITM), accommodation response and lag. The last chapter compares prescriptions from an open field autorefractor with subjective refraction, keratometry and other types of autorefractors.
