Light reflection among surfaces of an optical system and coherent waves superposition can lead to interference resulting in undesirable fringes. Such optical fringes cause distortions of transmission spectrum of the experimental setup. Analysis of the interference reduction by wavelength modulation is presented. The method was applied for minimizing fringes in an experiment with multipass absorption cell.
