The project "Synergic use of Lidar and Pollen sensor for Aerosol Typing"  (SLaP4AT)  financed by the NAWA program for doctoral internship of PRELUDIUM BIS-2 was focused on the investigation of allergenic pollen properties and its spatio-temporal extent within the atmosphere over an urban site with use of world-class lidar and pollen monitor measurements, combined with supporting data. The aim was to use the innovative pollen monitor of the National Institute for Research and Development for Optoelectronics (INOE2000) in Romania in colocation with the polarization Mie-Raman lidars of the Institute of Geophysics, Facluty of Physics, University of Warsaw and INOE. The project developed and implemented a machine learning algorithm that allows to type specific pollen particles (14 species) characteristic for the Magurele location in Romania. The accuracy of the model was improved by using additional information related to the obtained data products, such as fluorescence, scattering and lifetime. The first studies related to obtaining the relationship between data obtained using the in-situ pollen sensor, fluorescent automatic pollen sampler and Mie-Raman lidar measurements were performed.

The doctoral internship was realized by mgr Artur Tomczak (project PI) supervised by prof. Iwona Stachlewska (UW) and dr Jeni Vasilescu (INOE). Students Andrei Dandocsi (INOE) and Zuzanna Rykowska (UW) helped in the project realization.
