The Foundation for Polish Science announced the results of the START 2022 Competition

We are pleased to announce that our PhD student Jakub Nowak from the Atmospheric Physics Department is on the FNP list of 100 outstanding young scientists with documented achievements in their field of research, who will receive an annual scholarship of 28 thousand PLN. The scholarship can be received only once, within the START 2022 Competition of the Foundation for Polish Science. START Programme scholarship holders are selected through a multi-stage competition in which the quality of their scientific output to date is assessed.

START Programme of the Foundation for Polish Science is the oldest scholarship programme in Poland for the best young scientists representing all fields of science. Its aim is to support outstanding young scientists and encourage them to further scientific development. START scholarships have been awarded by the FNP since 1993. Up to 2022, the FNP awarded 3,300 people and granted 3,936 scholarships (in 2002-2015 there was a possibility to receive the START scholarship twice) in the total amount of PLN 90.5 million.
